I dedicate this poem to everyone who loves without the expectation to receive love back.
I’m overflowing with godly love cradling you in my arms, brushing my lips against your tiny forehead inhaling deeply your milky sweet scent my fragile gift, so precious, so pure, and nothing else matters anymore— make-up, fancy outfits, degrees, career— now, I see no help from them while nurturing you, my sweet baby boo. Your trusting eyes are worshipping my God’s given motherly instincts, manna-leaking breasts, foam-pillowed arms, endless love evaporating heart and my smiling face breathing lullabies. I’m in awww of you, my beautiful child.
“Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.”
Lord Christ Jesus (Gospel of John 16:21)
